This PBL project is research skills with a twist! Recently in US History we talked about imperialism and how the US Navy was a way for America to flex its muscles to the rest of the world. The Great White Fleet placed America as the third greatest Navy of the world. The students focused on the Navy of the past as well as our present Navy in America. We were able to look at each others posters and write a reflective essay on how the Navy impacted imperialism, and how the Navy has changed or stayed the same in America. We all learned about the Navy new and old from each other and in a visual way. Check out the posters they created below.

The US History students really knocked it out of the park with our project-based learning and the Populist Era. Students worked in groups and used their historical knowledge to make connections to The Wizard of Oz. The end results were amazing! Check out some of the best projects below
Students are once again studying the industrial revolution and it is time to ShamWOW me! Students created DIY inventions or life hacks and looked at how to create the product on an assembly line. They also put economies of scales into action. They had to buy product materials in bulk, to see the cost per item go down, as they produced greater numbers of their product. Once they had a business proposal in place, and a product created, the students created commercials to sell their products. Featured below are some of the best from this year.
Students attempted to bring history to life at a historical dinner party. Each student became a person from the Renaissance & Reformation and researched answers to questions on his or her selected person. At the dinner party students spent time talking to all of the other guests. Students were to put effort towards dressing up and bringing a dish to pass. Students even made some dishes from the period. These kids knocked it out of the park! Some of our Renaissance guests throughout the day...Some of our Renaissance foods
Time to look at World Religions in World History class. In groups of two, the World History students recently created posters based on World Religions. We used the program Canva to create the posters and below are featured some of the awesome posters created. All of the posters were placed in a Google Drive Folder so students could complete a world religions online scavenger hunt.
