The Great White Fleet placed America as the third greatest navy of the world. The students focused on the navy of the past as well as our present navy in America. Students in US History recently finished learning about the Populist Era and were able to watch The Wizard of Oz and create digital stories to explain how The Wizard of Oz is thought to be a political allegory. Check out the unique and interesting projects the students created.
World History Students recently were able to select a spooky Halloween element to base their projects on. A group for example, could decide to look at witches. The group of two students then wrote a research paper on the origins of Halloween, the origins of witches, and how witches connect to Halloween today. This content was then turned into a children's story geared toward second graders. Lastly, the groups developed creative activities connected to their topic. The students dressed up and headed over to Woodland Elementary to share their projects with the second grade on Halloween.
